The Autumn Statement 2016 is to be delivered by Philip Hammond, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, on the 23rd November this year.
The treasury have said that the statement will contain the latest forecasts for both the economy and the public finances.
The key focus of the Autumn Statement for freelancers and contractors will be the announcement of an all clear to reform IR35 in the public sector. This has been predicted to be present by the former tax official, Carolyn Walsh.
The Treasury addressed individuals or outfits wanting to comment on IR35 or other government policies during September. Officials even published guidance on how to submit an ‘Autumn Statement representation’ as an interest group, representative body or member of the public.
